As the government troops who had accompanied Zheng He to the fan lands had travelled over great distances, suffered many hardships, realized such achievements and had now returned, the Emperor ordered the eunuch Zhao Wei-shan and Li Zhi-gang, a director within the Ministry of Rites to go to provide a banquet in reward to the troops at Tai-cang.
