Ha-zai and others, attendants of the envoy from the country of Java, departed on their return home. Earlier, during the Yong-le reign (1403-24), Ha-zai and so on accompanied the envoy Ma-hei-zhan* in coming to offer tribute. It happened that their country then experienced unrest and thus they remained in the capital. At this time, they were sent home and provided with travelling expenses. *In the Tai-zong Shi-lu, the envoy who arrived in the first month of the fourth year was named Ma-li-zhan (馬里占).
