The envoy Ma Yong-liang from the country of Java stated that previously he had come to Court with the rank of Ba-di (Patih) and a silver belt had been been conferred upon him. As he was at this time a Ya-lie (Arya), he requested that a gold belt be conferred upon him. Ba-di Nan-wu and so on requested that silver belts be conferred upon them. The Emperor, considering that Java had long respectfully fulfilled its tribute obligations without negligence, allowed all their requests.
