The army of the Feng-cheng Marquis Li Bin, regional commander of Jiao-zhi, reached Shan-cai County. There it came upon over 1,000 (Alt: 10) roving bandit troops. The army did battle with them, defeated them and then pursued them to Ma-lang Hamlet where all the bandits left their camp to do battle. The Imperial army again defeated them and captured or killed Tao Qiang and over 3,500 of the bandit officers and men.
