The envoy Qiu Yan-cheng, who had been sent by [Shi] Ji-sun, the son of Shi Jin-qing, the deceased pacification superintendent of Old Port, requested that Ji-sun be allowed to inherit his father's position and also advised that the old seal had been destroyed by fire. The Emperor ordered that Ji-sun should inherit the post of pacification superintendent. In addition, silk gauze headwear, a gold filigree belt, clothing made from patterned fine silks interwoven with gold thread, and a silver seal were conferred upon him. It was ordered that the eunuch Zheng He take the gifts and proceed to deliver them to him.
