The retired Junior Guardian of the Heir Apparent and concurrent Minister of War, Zhang Peng, died. Peng (zi Teng-xiao) had his origins in Lai-shui County, Zhi-li...In the 18th year of the Cheng-hua reign (1482/83) he was promoted to Minister of War. While in this post, the Liao-dong defence officials requested permission to expand the borders (開邊) and Si Bing of Meng-mi in Yun-nan requested that he be appointed as an official and be allowed to bring tribute to the Court. Peng memorialized opposition to both matters.....
