The envoy Ya-lie Mai Shang-geng and others from the country of Java, memorialized: "When we came to offer tribute, the ship we travelled in was tossed about by the winds. It is now damaged and leaking and is not seaworthy. It is requested that the three offices of Guang-dong be instructed to repair it. It is also requested that Imperial orders, a parasol and "mang"-dragon robes be conferred upon the king of our country to bring glory to our small state. It is further requested that we be allowed to trade the goods conferred upon us for linseed (油麻), nails, iron pots, bowls and porcelain in Guang-dong." All these requests were approved.
