Imperial orders were sent to the Ava-Burma Pacification Superintendent Bu-la-lang Ma-ha Sheng-yi-su-la and others. The orders read: "Recently, the Yun-nan regional commander and other officials have memorialized that you had requested the deployment of the Great Army to go and eliminate Si Bu-fa in Meng-yang. This firmly shows your loyalty and sincerity. However, Si Ji-fa was the major evil-doer and he has recently been captured. Si Bu-fa has fled to the distance and this shows that he has repented his past evil actions. As a demonstration of the Court's great benevolence, it is not intended to thoroughly pursue his past misdeeds. When these orders arrive, you are to increase your loyalty and sincerity, restrain your tribes-people and protect the border areas. You are not to act rashly, as that will give rise to disturbances."
