The achievements of the Li-jiang native-official prefect Mu Zeng in defending against bandits and opening up territory were recorded and he was rewarded with 20 liang of silver and two biao-li of ramie-silk. His son [Mu] Yi and his houseman-chieftains (舍目) were all rewarded with differing amounts of silver as appropriate. When the Liao calamity was at its height, Zeng had contributed 10,000 jin to assist with rations. Thus, his achievements were not limited to Yun-nan.
