The Ava-Burma bandit, the Mang chieftain, attacked Yong-chang and Teng-yue. Previously, the post of Yong-chang assistant regional commander was abolished, leaving only the one commandant for Yong-chang and Teng-chong. The Grand Coordinator Liu Shi-zeng requested that the Hu-guang Assistant Regional Commander Deng Zi-long be appointed as Yong-chang Assistant Regional Commander, and that Liu Ting, based at the Minor Training Camp in Nan-jing, be appointed as mobile corps commander handling the duties of Teng-chong commandant, so that they could recruit troops and arrange defences. This was approved.
