The Yun-nan Grand Coordinator Liu Shi-zeng submitted an impeachment against the Assistant Regional Commander Deng Zi-long and Mobile Corps Commander Liu Ting, submitting that in commanding their forces, they were not disciplined, leading to injuries and deaths in both armies. The Ministry of War re-submitted the memorial, noting: "The two generals repeatedly realized achievements in battle and have not yet been rewarded. It is requested that their small transgressions be pardoned and that they be required to make greater joint efforts." An Imperial order was issued approving the ministry's proposal.
