As the Ava-Burma bandits had suddenly attacked, and Teng-chong and Yong-chang were in danger, the former Mobile Corps Commander Deng Zi-long, who had been removed from his post for investigation but who in previous years had realized achievements in defeating the Ava-Burmese and was very familiar with the yi situation, was exempted from investigation and required to take charge of matters in order to realize achievements.
