Fan Cheng, the director of the Seals Office in the Zhao Princely Establishment, was restored to his post. In the 12th year of the Yong-le reign (1414/15), Cheng had been banished to Jiao-zhi for involvement in an offence. When the Ren-zong Emperor came to the throne (1424), on the basis of a memorial from the Zhao Prince Zhu Gao-sui, he sent an envoy to recall him. At this time he arrived. The Emperor exclaimed: "This shows the benevolence of my Imperial father in his love of his subjects." It was ordered that Cheng be restored to his post.
