It was ordered that Xiong Zong-lu, the prefect of San River Prefecture in Jiao-zhi, be promoted to assistant administration commissioner of the right in the Jiao-zhi Provincial Administration Commission. Zong-lu was originally an assistant administration commissioner in the Jiang-xi Provincial Administration Commission. However, due to involvement in an offence, he lost his post and followed the expedition to Jiao-zhi. He was found to be capable in the negotiated pacification of the yi and was subsequently appointed as the prefect of San River Prefecture. Here, he was again involved in an offence, was dismissed and appointed as a supervisor of transport under the Ministry of Works. At this time, his service had been completed and he was pardoned and again employed.
