The title of the Bao-ding Marquis Meng Ying, assistant regional commander of Jiao-zhi, was withdrawn, his title patent was recovered and he was banished to Yun-nan with the status of an ordinary civilian. The patents of enfeoffment granted to his father and grandfather were also recovered. This was ordered in consequence of the crime of plotting rebellion which had been committed by his elder brother [Meng] Xian.
