If I transgress against Heaven and Earth, dare to be double-minded or have doubts and become disaffected, may the gods strike me dead! Now I am sending the attendant minister Ruan Jing-zhen and others to offer felicitations on the coming New Year's Day, and to receive and bring back Tian-ping. I will lead the people of the country to receive him at the border." The Messenger Nie Cong and the others spoke enthusiastically about Di's sincere heart and respect for orders.
