On this day, Mo Sui and others who had been sent by the Xin-cheng Marquis Zhang Fu, regional commander of the force sent on expedition to punish Annam, to pacify and proclaim instructions, came to the commander-in-chief with Yin Pei and others, a total of 1,120 persons, who were the elders from Bei River and other prefectures and from An-yue and other counties. Sui spoke as follows: "We have humbly received your notice and have made it known throughout the country. It advises of the Emperor's virtuous will, orders the officials to return to their original posts, the troops to return to their original units and the people to return to their original occupations. It further requires that we seek out a male descendant of the Chen line who is related by blood and who is virtuous, so that he can present a memorial of request, be again given the title of king and take on the rule of the country. We respectfully have gone to the various places to promulgate the instructions of pacification and the officials, troops and people have been settled in their former post, units and occupations. However, as for the males of the Chen line, the Li bandits eliminated all of them. There are no descendants and no one is left to inherit the throne. In ancient times, Annam was Chinese territory, but later when it was lost, we sank into yi ways and did not know of propriety and righteousness. Fortunately, the Imperial Court has wiped away the cruel and evil spawn, and the troops and the people, the old and the young, are now able to gaze on the excellence of Chinese culture. headwear. They are exceedingly jubilant and all wish that the ancient prefectures and counties be re-established. We will thus be able to gradually rid ourselves of yi ways and will long receive the benefits of the Sage. I, Sui, and the elders respectfully present a memorial and request that it be forwarded to the Court to notify it of the feelings of we petty people." As the Li bandits, both father and son, were imminently to be eliminated, and the various prefectures and counties had been pacified, the Xin-cheng Marquis Zhang Fu decided that it was appropriate that there be an administration to soothe and rule the people. Thus, on this day, he sent a messenger to urgently memorialize these matters to the Court.
