In order to take proclamations announcing the Emperor's accession to the two countries of Korea and Annam, the Han-lin Academy Senior Compiler Tang Gao and the Junior Compiler Sun Cheng-en were appointed as chief envoys, while Shi Dao, a supervising secretary in the Office of Scrutiny for War and Li Xi, a supervising secretary in the Office of Scrutiny for Rites were appointed as deputy envoys to proceed there.
